The Art of Being Cool

Seed of the Week: Donate a fan to a family and/or shelter in need.

Good morning from the Project Grow 365, Inc. Team! We hope that your week is going well and that you are very productive in your endeavors. With summer in full swing, let's get in gear to continue making positive changes/progressions in our lives and the lives of those around us. Stay active!

If this is your first time to the site, welcome! We always enjoy making new friends, so come on in and make yourself right at home. Take a look around the site and see some of our other seed ideas; you'll also find in our Spotlight section other organizations that we have chosen to highlight for you to connect with. If you'd like to stay in touch with our project, feel free to subscribe to our blog in the "You've Got Mail!" section by entering your e-mail.  It's the summer time! The thoughts of school being out fill the minds of children, holidays with fireworks, amusement parks with tall water slides, gatherings around the grill for tasty food, and general outdoor fun all abound. You know who else has invited themselves to this feast of fun and food? Our friendly "neighbor" the sun! And when the sun shows up in the summer, it usually shows up in a major way! (We hope you don't start to sweat just thinking about it while reading this.)

While many of us can take refuge from the sweltering heat indoors thanks to air conditioning, there are still a great number of people who do not have such amenities to aid them in the summer. Imagine having to deal with the unbearable warm temperatures and having no reprieve from them. In areas where there is high levels of humidity, even the wind only stirs up warm air to blow through raised windows.

For our seed idea this week (and any time going forward that you can), we'd like for you to donate a fan to a family in need, or to a shelter than can distribute them appropriately if you do not know anyone directly. This is the art of being cool...not in what we can do to impress others, but in how we can help those in need around us.

Please feel free to contact us at oneseed365@gmail.com with any stories of how you were able to help others in this effort, or if you have any questions about Project Grow 365, Inc. As always, thanks for helping us change the world, one seed at a time.

If Not Now, When?

Good morning and welcome back from the Project Grow 365, Inc. Team! We have not forgot about our friends and trust that you have not forgotten about us! With summer in full swing, let's get in gear to continue making positive changes/progressions in our lives and the lives of those around us. Stay active!

"I'll start working on my procrastination tomorrow."  This is one of the quotes about starting that stands out to us, because it's our approach to many things in life. "I'll go back and finish school next year." "I'll clean out my closets and donate my old clothes next weekend." "I'll start eating healthy next week." Our to-do list grows by the day!

What if next year never comes? Or next weekend? Or tomorrow? What if the friend we are supposed to encourage, doesn't want to talk anymore? There's a story of two men that visited a graveyard to pay respects to their loved ones. One man brought flowers, while the other man brought food. The man with the flowers asks the other guy mockingly "When do you suppose they will eat that food?" The other guy replies "When your person smells those flowers."

We have to make the most of the opportunities we have, when they are available to us. Take some time and think about what you have been putting off. Is it someone that could use your help? Is there a conversation that needs to be had to repair an old friendship? Perhaps there is an act of kindness you have been looking to do, but have doubts as to how it will be received. Take the step to move past contemplation and into action. You never know the difference you will make, just by being you.

As always, thank you for helping us change the world one seed at a time. By looking at our watch, it's time to get to it!

Spring Cleaning

Good morning and welcome back from the Project Grow 365, Inc. Team! We have not forgot about our friends and trust that you have not forgotten about us! With spring right around the corner, let's get in gear to continue making positive changes/progressions in our lives and the lives of those around us. Stay active!

Ahhhh, spring is upon us yet again! Time to watch the flowers bloom, the grass begin (or continue) to grow, and the birds return from their winter vacation destinations. Such a beautiful time of transition in nature!

With such transition comes the need to change or adapt to present times. The leaves that were shed by trees in the fall and winter have made way for new ones to grow now. Food stored by animals for the winter hibernation period is all but gone, and new food must be collected. As for us, spring cleaning usually means getting rid of the dust and other things that have settled during the winter season.

While getting rid of winter's things to be shed, let us also be mindful of cleaning up our attitudes  about life and continuing to press towards our goals. The winter can be not only a physical or natural season in our lives, but an emotional or mental period as well, where we become lethargic in our activity or disposition. Check to see if you are actively engaging in positive activities that will enhance your life and weigh it down. Don't let the seasons change and be left behind!

As always, our aim is not only to make ourselves better, but to increase the world around us as well by being healthy, helpful, productive individuals. Thank you for helping us change the world, one seed at a time.

Blurred Vision

Seed of the Week: Take the time to focus on upcoming goals, and make a plan on how to achieve them.

Good morning world, it's another wonderful Wednesday! Whether you are digging your way out of snowfall right now, or enjoying the wonderful sun shining on your face, we are glad to have you back with us again. We trust your week is going well and that you are progressing towards your goals for the week. Stay productive, we know you can do it!

If this is your first time to the site, welcome! We always enjoy making new friends, so come on in and make yourself right at home. Take a look around the site and see some of our other seed ideas; you'll also find in our Spotlight section other organizations that we have chosen to highlight for you to connect with.  If you're like many people who suffer from some sort of impaired vision, an eye exam is typically required at least once a year to test where your vision is currently. The routine almost becomes standard...we hear "Is it better with 1? *optometrist flips lens* or 2? 3? or 4?". The series of tests almost becomes a guessing game as to how sharp the letters on the eye chart come into view.

During this test as the eye doctor is shuffling through the various lenses, the picture can become blurred for two reasons: either the lens is not providing enough focus, or the lens is too strong and over focusing on a single area. Both of these can cause discomfort and even headaches if held for too long.

In the same way, how we approach our goals can be similar. Often we set goals but either don't put enough focus into seeing them completed, or we put too much focus into a small area, and miss out on the overall big picture. In like manner, both of these too can cause headaches and frustration when prolonged.

For this week's seed idea, we want you to examine where you are with some goals you have set for yourself. Now would be a great time to sit down and really assess where you are with completing them, and if anything needs to be adjusted so that you can be fully successful while maintaining balance. You can do it!

We'd like you hear some of the things that help you stay focused, so drop us a line at oneseed365@gmail.com. Thanks as always for helping us change the world, one seed at a time!

Are You Comfortable?

Seed of the Week: Be a Change Agent!

Good morning world, it's another wonderful Wednesday! Whether you are shoveling your way out of snowfall right now, or enjoying the sun shining on your face, we are glad to have you back with us again.

If you've ever had to share a space with other people in a season of changing temperature, you will quickly find out that some people prefer a cooler temperature, while others prefer warmer numbers. Whether we are "hot" or "cold" natured by default, each of us has a different climate in which we feel comfortable. That's what helps us stay unique!

Now think about your own homes. If you have a central air/heating unit in your place of living, most like you have some version of a thermostat to help you adjust the temperature of the room to your desired setting. Sounds pretty functional, right? Now imagine if that thermostat was removed and replaced with a thermometer. You could only see what temperature it was in the room, but you couldn't do anything about it.

This is what it's like to be a change agent. A change agent not only can sense the temperature of the environment around them, but they have the ability to change it for the better. Often we get comfortable in our ways and become "thermometers" of sorts, always able to sense the environment but without the motivation to change it for the better.

For this week's seed idea, we want you to get into the habit of being a positive agent of change. Whether it's sharing a kind word, smile, word of support, hug, phone call, text or some other means of positive affirmation, we want you to change the environment around you. You'd be surprised how different things can be when you set the right atmosphere.

Thank you again for helping us change the world, one seed at a time.

Fuel for Success

Seed of the Week: Choose healthier food options, and incorporate time for exercise

Good morning world, it's another wonderful Wednesday! Whether you are reading this and feeling the pull of the work week or somewhere entrenched deep into a new project, we are glad to have you with us again. We trust your week is going well and that you are progressing towards your goals for the week. Stay productive!

If this is your first time to the site, welcome! We always enjoy making new friends, so come on in and make yourself right at home. Take a look around the site and see some of our other seed ideas; you'll also find in our Spotlight section other organizations that we have chosen to highlight for you to connect with.  If you are like us, the recent drop in gas prices has us excited about going to the pumps again! Travel can certainly impact your monthly budget, if you frequently have to stop and re-fuel while on the road accomplishing things for your work or hobby. Anything that can help keep money in our wallets, we gladly accept!

In the same way, we'd like you to consider the type of fuel you are providing the "machine" that is your body. Healthier eating habits ensure that the type of "fuel" we provide ourselves is less costly to our bodies in the long run than unhealthy eating habits. You wouldn't want to put harmful ingredients in your vehicle would you? Maintenance costs can be pricey. Doctor visits are even more costly.

For our seed idea this week, we'd like you to consider choosing healthier food options, and incorporating exercise in your diet. We would be remiss to do our best to help others, and not do anything to improve our overall quality of life as well. While we are sick and not feeling out best, we cannot be much good to anyone else.

If you have fitness tips or a healthy food recipe you'd like to share with us, feel free to e-mail us at oneseed365@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Thank you for helping us change the world, one seed at at time.
